That's according to a GoFundMe campaign launched by Amanda Karns Hatboro Sgt. Alex Bruckner.

The campaign says the officer's home "rapidly burnt to the ground" due to an electrical fire on the family's back deck around 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1.

Bruckner, his wife, her mother, their three young children, and the family pet escaped unharmed — but the property was a total loss, colleagues said.

"Sarah and Alex and their 3 young children, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the start of summer, stood and watched helplessly, as they lost everything they owned in just minutes," the campaign said.

"It will take many months for them to rebuild their life after this devastating loss. This proud, hard working family would never ask for help for themselves, but they need support."

The GoFundMe for the family had raised $47,000 as of Monday, June 3.
